Church Employee Anthony P. Casey Arrested – Luring a Minor for Sexual Exploitation

On October 1, 2009, after on-line Internet communications, 26 year old Anthony P. Casey left his workplace at a church in Mesa Arizona and drove 27 miles to a location in Phoenix intent upon meeting a minor for sex.   Mr. Casey was met instead by detectives from the Phoenix P.D. / Arizona ICAC Task Force who arrested him without incident.  In a twisted irony, Casey stated that he works as the Safe Environment Compliance Officer at the church and that his job duties include making sure that the church is free of sex offenders.  A search warrant was subsequently served at the church offices and evidence was seized.  Casey was booked into the Maricopa County Jail charged with one count of luring a minor for sexual exploitation.  The case will be submitted to the Maricopa County Attorney's Office for prosecution.
