Recovery Act Funds Train 22 ICAC Cyber-Soldiers to Fight Internet Offenders
November 6, 2009. The Arizona ICAC Task Force used Recovery Act Funds provided through the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention to train 22 Arizona law enforcement officers in the specialized techniques required to identify traffickers of unlawful images.
Attendees participated in a five day computer lab and lecture course provided by trainers from the New Mexico State Police ICAC Unit.
Many thanks to the New Mexico State Police for permitting their two trainers to come to Arizona thus saving thousands of training dollars that would have been used if the officers had traveled out-of-state for the course.
Attendees included investigators from Apache Junction PD, Holbrook PD, Tempe PD, Phoenix PD, Scottsdale PD, Maricopa County Attorney's Office, Mesa PD, I.C.E., Gilbert PD, Yavapai County SO, and Flagstaff PD.
